The river Torsha flows through this rain forest sanctuary and have an area of 141 Sq. KM and altitude of 61 m. Jaldapara, the vast grassland with patches of riverine forests was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of the great variety flora and fauna, particularly the one-horned rhinoceros, an animal threatened with extinction. The Jaldapara Sanctuary covers 216 Sq. KM, is a mosaic of woods, grasslands, perennial streams, sandy river banks and extensive belts of tall grass. It contains a great diversity of flora and fauna of mixed deciduous forest, grasslands and river banks. The Malangi River also flows nearby from east to west. Drained by rivers Torsa, Malangi, Hollong, Chirakhawa, Kalijhora, Sissamara, Bhaluka and Buri Torsa, the Sanctuary provides extensive grassland which is the last refuge to a wide variety of mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds.
8 KM inside the deep forest, Hollong Tourist Lodge is the most preferred amongst tourists due to its absolutely wonderful location amidst green and dense forests. You might be lucky enough to see herds of Elephants coming to drink water even from your room. The unique location of Hollong has made it most favored destination in the nature lover’s list since it gives a sense of closeness toward the nature for all the guests. There is salt pit right outside the lodge which is maintained by the forest official. Forest official go and place salt at the pit regularly to attract wild animals like elephants, gaurs (Indian Bison), one horned rhinos, deer like Chitals, Sambars etc. The elephant safari of Hollong Forest Reserve is very popular and famous for spotting wild animals in the jungle.

By Air: Bagdogra is the nearest airport to Jaldapara from where tourist can reach Jaldapara by road-route via Siliguri.
By Train: The most important railway station in the North East India is NJP. NJP is directly connected with all major stations in India. The nearest railway station to Jaldapara is Madarihat. All the mail and express trains stop at Birpara/Hasimara railway stations which are well connected to Jaldapara.
By Road: Jaldapara is connected by National Highway with Siliguri and can be reached by car. Madarihat is the entry point for the sanctuary. It is located on the NH 31 (Siliguri-Hasimara section). North Bengal State Transport Corporation buses, Bhutan Government buses, minibuses are available from Siliguri to Alipurduar via Madarihat. Cars can also be hired at Siliguri to reach Jaldapara.

The guest will also recordrelationship with accompanying members during check in. The booking at the chosen Property is not transferable and is valid only if one of the ID card noted above is presented during the check in. Theguest should carry with him/her a print out of the e-reservation slip. Two children below 8-years of age may stay with parents without additional room tariff subject to size of the room booked. The amount of refund will be reversed to the debit/credit card/bank account after deducting the cancellation charges as per policy. Reservation may be cancelled in case of acute administrative requirement. No cancellation charge will be deducted under such scenario. For part cancellation, normal refund rules will apply.
