The walkway along the Riverfront is an attraction and is a wonderful place to enjoy the changing colours of the sky from afternoon to sunset and late evening and to watch the reflections on the water and glass panels of the Dining Room. Barrackpore was one of the earliest British settlements along the Hooghly river. The name Barrackpore originates from the English word barracks. Barrackpore acquired the name as the site of the first major military base of the British East India Company. Prior to that time, Barrackpore was known as Chanak, and is mentioned by that name in the Manasa Mangal. Arguably, it is also believed that during the regime of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, this place was a major collection center of “khajna” (taxes) and then it was named as Barbakpur. With time, the name changed to Barrackpore. Famous for its summer breeze, it was a popular riverside retreat for the British in Kolkata.

By Air: The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at Dum Dum is the only airport in the city of Kolkata, which is in North 24 Parganas.
By Train: The nearest main rail station to access North 24 Parganas is Sealdah, which is well connected by rail route with the various places of the district.
By Road: North 24 Parganas is well connected with the major cities of West Bengal by road network.

It is mandatory to carry any of the Identity cards (Voter Identity Card / Passport / PAN Card / Driving License / Photo ID card issued by Central / State Govt / Adhar Card). Reservation Rules

Please Follow The Restriction Imposed and Guidelines as Being Issued Time to Time By the Government and Local Authorities of the District Before Booking.
During check-in time all guest will have to produce an identity card (Voter Identity card / Passport / Pan Card/ Driving License/Photo ID card issued by Central / State Govt. for their employees etc.) in original as mentioned in reservation slip. The guest will also recordrelationship with accompanying members during check in.
The booking at the chosen Property is not transferable and is valid only if one of the ID card noted above is presented during the check in. Theguest should carry with him/her a print out of the e-reservation slip.
Two children below 8-years of age may stay with parents without additional room tariff subject to size of the room booked. Extra bed is available on additional payment, subject toavailability of space in room.
WBTDC will not be liable for non-availability of amenities / services caused by irreparable technical faults or natural calamity.
Due to the ongoing renovation work at the lodges of WBTDCL, we deeply regret the inconvenience that you might face during your stay.
Please do not pay any tips to the staffs of the Lodges of WBTDCL.
Pre/Postponement of booking is allowed only once for a particular booking.
There should be clear 7 days in between the date of check-in and date of attempt for availing the facility of Pre / postponement
No refund will be applicable for cancellation of a booking after availing the facility of pre/postpone.
Pet are not allowed in any Tourism Property

Tax Rules

GST-12% with Full ITC to be paid on spot during check-in (When Room rent between Rs. 1,001/- to Rs. 7500/- per day)
GST-18% with Full ITC to be paid on spot during check-in (When Room rent between Rs. 7,501/- and above per day
As per notification 30/09/2019 with effect from 1/10/2019
Service Charge 5% (Optional) on Room Rent to be paid on spot during check-in

Discount Charges

Discount applicable for rooms (no two discounts will be applicable at a time in a single booking)
50 % for cancer patients
20 % for Senior citizen ( Age 60yrs and above)
25 % for single occupancy
Any type of Discount applicable is to be selected during the time of booking; no further claims regarding the same will be accepted afterwards.
Proper id/medical proofs to be submitted during check-in at Lodge for the discounts claimed during booking.
No discounts applicable for Hollong Tourist Lodge

Extra Charges

Extra Person Charges 20 % of the room rent payable on spot .
Extra Cot Charges 30 % of the room rent payable on spot.
Tariff for extra person in double / triple bedrooms:
30% of tariff for extra bed/Mattress (subject to availability)
20% of tariff for extra person without extra bed.
An additional charge of Rs 200/- is levied per day if room heater is provided in the rooms of Annexe building of Darjeeling TL on demand.

Special Cases

All the lodges except Kalighat, Pathik Motel, Malda, Hollong and Jayanti Tourist Lodge have complementary breakfast. No complimentary breakfast for Dormitory Accommodation
For the tourist having booking at Sajnekhali Tourist Lodge-(Boat timings) pickup time from Gadkhali is 10.30 am -11.00 am and drop from lodge to Gadkhali is 8.30 am - 9.00 am

Cancellation Policy

Reservation may be cancelled by the guest through this portal (only for online payments made by an Indian citizen). The amount of refund will be reversed to the debit/credit card/bank account after deducting the cancellation charges as per policy.
Reservation may be cancelled in case of acute administrative requirement. No cancellation charge will be deducted under such scenario.
For part cancellation, normal refund rules will apply.
Refund admissible only upon production of the original reservation slip.
